Corn Crib Outfitters was established in 2007 by Andy Ryan, Joe Severns and John Milan. We are in our late ‘30’s and early ‘40’s, and have been involved in the outdoors all of our lives. Joe and I (Andy) have been deer hunting for over 20 years.

John was born and raised on one of our leased properties, and has 10 years of hunting experience. We are currently employed in a local factory and devote every spare minute to deer hunting. Our passion for hunting whitetails has grown and evolved over the years. For the past 10 years, we have developed a strong Quality Deer Management program with only mature bucks and does taken. We have harvested over 20 Pope and Young trophies, with many scoring between 140 and 175 points.

We live in an area that has many outfitters and through the years, we have met and talked to several people that have hunted with the various outfitters. Hearing about their experiences and stories, we knew that we could offer more. We started our business with the idea that we could be successful and different than the typical outfitter by guiding clients the way we personally hunt. Most outfitters are landowners and/or businessmen. At CCO, we are hunters who believe in low impact tactics and land that holds big bucks. Being locally born and raised, we have strong ties to local landowners and great knowledge of the local deer herd. The dream of someday getting out of the factory and living the dream of doing what we really love was the deciding factor in starting CCO.

We started small our first year to make sure this was an avenue we wanted to pursue. We knew outfitting and guiding would take away from our personal hunting, and wanted to know if this was something we would enjoy. We had our answer once the first buck hit the ground! I received a call from one of our hunters that had connected on a nice eight-pointer. Upon arriving at the scene to assist with tracking and field dressing duties, I was greeted by a very excited and happy hunter. We took pictures and listened while he told us about his hunt. Then we loaded the deer on the four-wheel ATV and prepared to take it back to camp. The hunter shook our hands and thanked us for making his dream come true. We knew right then and there that we were hooked on outfitting every bit as much as deer hunting.

After that, we decided to take outfitting from a hobby to a way of life. During the second year, we saw an increase in acreage, hunters and rewards from the hunters and ourselves. As we enter our third year of business, we are ready to take this to the next level. We have dedicated ourselves to growing this business in many ways. We have taken on a new partner to handle the business aspects, which will allow Joe, John and me to focus on the guiding and deer hunting aspects of this company. We have increased the amount of land we lease to 4,000 of the best big buck acres we can find. We have also added another lodge, which will have top notch accommodations, catered meals and a beautiful setting that includes a view of the hunting lands. Every year, we will take time off from our jobs to continue improving and growing the business. The future keeps getting brighter at CCO!
